Cap’t Rick

I grew up in New England and have always loved Wooden Boats. After my retirement, I purchased a 1955 42′ MATTHEWS Stock Cruiser that was in good shape.   After a number of years of general up-keep and maintenance, we undertook some major replanking in the port side step area during the winter of 2007/2008.  While in the shop I took all the chrome off for re-chroming and started stripping the bright work for a complete redo.  Elder parent issues took me away from the project of over a year, but I finally completed it this Spring, just in time for our long-dreamed about cruise down Lake Huron, across Lake Erie, and into the Erie Canal to the Hudson River.  The return trip will be via the Oswego Canal to Lake Ontario, through the Trent-Severn Canal in Canada and back to the Georgian Bay on Lake Huron and home through the North Channel.
